Dynamic Days Europe 2011

Dynamics Days Europe is a major international conference from a series with a long tradition, devoted to a wide variety of topics in nonlinear dynamics with applications to various disciplines of science. The conference aims to bring together experimental and theoretical scientists to facilitate the development and application of techniques from dynamical systems theory.

The Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg is proud to host the XXXI. Dynamics Days Europe, which will take place September 12-16, 2011 in Oldenburg, Germany. The conference program will consist of invited lectures, minisymposia devoted to actual problems in dynamical systems, contributed talks and poster sessions. The program starts Monday morning and ends Friday afternoon. On Wednesday there will be an excursion to the North Sea.

As a main theme of the conference we will discuss the role of nonlinearities in environmental science including climate dynamics and extreme events. Several invited talks and minisymposia will be devoted to this topic.

The main topics of this conference are:

  • Pattern Formation

  • Waves and Chaos

  • Networks and Synchronization

  • Non-smooth Dynamical Systems

  • Coherent structures and Mixing

  • Microfluidics

  • Noise-induced Phenomena

  • Mathematical Biology

  • Quantum Dynamics
